My time in CSA started two years ago, when I joined the first ever Utrecht committee. Together we hosted a wide range of events, while working together in a close and fun team. Moreover, I got the chance to develop my communication and leadership skills by becoming head of the committee. I had an unforgettable time during my year as Active, but I knew I was not done yet with CSA. I wanted to contribute to the association for longer, to give back to the community, but also to gain experiences on a higher level, to make more friends, and to create lasting memories. Taking on the role of the President was the perfect challenge.
A position within the Board would bring different team dynamics, more responsibilities, and many more challenges. Taking on the role of the President in particular was a chance to improve my leadership skills by supervising two committees, while also leading the Board and overseeing the association. I developed a lot of soft skills and gained a deeper understanding of my strengths and weaknesses. I helped my Board and committee members grow professionally and personally, and I have been part of enriching others’ student life, as well as my own.
Being the President of CSA was not always the easiest. It shaped me in ways no other experience would have. Looking back, the past year has been one of the most unique opportunities of my life. This position has pushed my limits and strengthened my character. Serving on the 22nd Board will forever hold a special place in my heart. I will always be grateful for all the lessons I have learnt and connections I have made. I cannot wait to see how the association will develop in the coming years, making an impact on the lives of many more people.
