The Utrecht Committee is responsible for organizing events in the beautiful and centrally located city of Utrecht. These events can range from social, cultural, educational, and career events. There will be a lot of freedom in what you want to organize! As a member of the Utrecht Committee, you will broaden our reach to a new city, help us establish roots in Utrecht and its educational institutions and bring people together regardless of their background by introducing them to our association.
You will be planning and organising our annual study trip with fellow enthusiastic committee members, who also have a strong interest in exploring and showcasing the beauty of China! Are you ready to come in contact with China’s dynamic business environment with the biggest companies (Huawei, Deloitte, Pwc, Alibaba etc.) and universities (Tsinghua, BeiDa, Fudan) in the world, and explore the absolutely beautiful yet intriguing deep roots of thousands of years of history and culture? Hosting our annual flagship event together with a driven team will definitely contribute to your planning, social and professional skills! Our aim is to create an unforgettable experience and make lifelong friends, by organising the study trip to China for other students to showcase and discover the absolute stunning sceneries, rich culture and dynamic businesses.
It is the Social Events Committee’s duty to organize events to bring like-minded people together in a fun way. You will be responsible for organizing social events on different scales, such as the Moon Festival party, Christmas Gala, Social Borrels and many more creative events. As a Social Events Committee member, you will meet more and spend time with amazing people to create unforgettable memories. The goal of the Social Events Committee is to introduce general members to each other and to let people get familiar with CSA by introducing them to our association in an informal setting.
It is the Cultural Events Committee’s duty to organize cultural events involving both Chinese and Dutch culture. You will be responsible for organizing events on different scales that let our members explore and learn what cultures have to offer: food, art, music, etc. Among our successful events are: Moon Festival, GFGF and city trips. As a Cultural Events Committee member, you will bring people together with different backgrounds while creating unforgettable cultural memories.
The Education Committee manages Dutch and Mandarin language courses and language events, such as the Language Café. The aim of this committee is to facilitate the best possible opportunities for our students to learn, share, and improve skills in either language. Language is a unique aspect of culture. Learning one can thus let us gain new perspectives and broaden our horizons. It is through these means that the CSA Education Committee works to build bridges between different cultures. We strive to further improve the language courses and its reputation, hopefully with your help!
The Career Events Committee organizes the association’s flagship career event ‘CSA Career Days’. This flagship event revolves around connecting ambitious students and young professionals to globally oriented companies. Outside this, the committee also regularly organizes all formal events of the association, such as company dinners, in-house days and career-related workshops. The Career Events Committee is a place for you to develop your interpersonal skills and ability to work extensively with professionals in various sectors. Most importantly, it is a place for you to have fun and make life-time memories you will cherish forever!
The Internal Relations Committee is responsible for upholding CSA’s characteristic family-like feeling among the Active members and CSA Alumni Network, which consists of former Active members. Together as a committee, you will ensure everybody feels (re)welcomed in the association. Throughout the year, you will initiate frequent, accessible, and engaging internal and alumni events, encouraging mingling and (re)connection. Examples of internal events are Actives Weekend, Secret Santa, and Potluck Dinner. In addition, the committee will be hosting Alumni Drinks and the Alumni Buddy System. Besides hosting in-person events, the Internal Relations Committee extends its reach on internal and alumni social media. Fostering an appreciative and enthusiastic internal culture, while bridging past and present, is key to what CSA stands for.
It is the Marketing Committee’s duty to position and present the CSA brand as one of the largest multicultural student organizations of the Netherlands. The Marketing Committee is responsible for the general promotion of CSA and work together with other committees to promote events. Furthermore, we are responsible for maintaining and monitoring the digital promotion channels of CSA. This includes keeping the social media up-to-date and designing flyers, posters and banners for our target group. It is also the Marketing Committee’s job to make photos for events.
The Partnership Committee’s purpose is to maintain and strengthen partnerships, seek for (new) potential partners, and create more value for both partners and members of CSA throughout the whole year. You will visit the current partners and new ones in Rotterdam/Delft/The Hague/Utrecht to have meetings or photoshoots. Next to that, you will collaborate with other committees to organize monthly CSA borrels where you will work closely with venues.
The IT Committee is responsible for managing CSA’s digital environment and improving its IT infrastructure to support the association’s activities. The committee oversees the website, event registration systems, and membership database, ensuring that all technical platforms run smoothly and efficiently. In addition to maintaining and developing digital solutions, the committee occasionally organizes gaming events that bring members together in a fun and interactive setting.
The Sports Events Committee is dedicated to bringing the CSA community together through engaging sports activities, tournaments, and active social events. Committee members are responsible for developing creative event concepts, coordinating logistics, and ensuring that every event runs smoothly from planning to execution. By organizing memorable experiences that encourage participation and teamwork, the committee plays a key role in strengthening connections within CSA. It is the perfect opportunity for enthusiastic and proactive members to make an impact, gain valuable organizational experience, and help build a vibrant and active community.
